APR Disability Services is a specialist provider of short term care (respite care), longer term care and also offer emergency respite care options.
As a carer, taking a break is essential to restore energy, reduce stress and even perform your own errands or tasks, allowing you to return to your role feeling rested and refreshed. This can only be achieved if you feel secure in the knowledge that your loved one is safe and secure. Our specialist staff and facilities ensure just that.
APR is unique in that it has two separate premises, one for women and one for men. Each houses up to 7 participants and each has its own:
All areas are wheelchair accessible.
APR offer a short term accommodation option to participants who would like to have a go at living out of their home environment. This gives carers the opportunity to see whether their loved one is able to adjust before making any long term decisions. Participants are able to develop independent living skills with the support of our care workers.
There are three levels of respite-type supports available for funding as part of an NDIS plan. APR currently offrers:
Level 1: 7 to 14 days per year to allow the carer to attend key activities
Level 3: Equivalent of 28 days per year, when the carer provides support most days and informal support is at risk of not continuing due to the intensity of the support required or severe behavioural issues.
