Not every business is eligible to gain a business page on Mycareplace. As a general rule, our focus tends to be on local service providers and traditional brick-and-mortar businesses. Similarly, we do also feature street vendors, mobile businesses, government services, parks and attractions. Including anything else we believe fits in with being part of the ‘Local’ scene.

We will typically remove ineligible business pages from our search results once we are made aware of them. Likewise, we will request third-party search engines to do the same. Although they act on their own timetable. As a result, you may find that ineligible pages may still be accessible. This may be directly via their URL or from a user’s content (like photos and reviews).

Here are some guidelines to keep in mind:

Ineligible businesses

There are some grey areas but we generally try not to list direct-seller, lead-generation, or e-commerce businesses. Likewise, if a business serves primarily commercial customers. We will also exclude businesses that are not a good fit for our platform. Please let us know if you think you see an ineligible business page on Mycareplace.

Opening Soon

As long as you have business information that we can verify, you can certainly create a business page. However, we typically won’t show a business in search results if it is not scheduled to open within a month. If you are a business that would like to create your Mycareplace business page prior to opening, we would encourage you to list and claim your business immediately. Also, you must add ‘Coming Soon‘ next to your business name in that field.

Businesses without physical locations

Home service providers show up at a customer’s home to carry out their work. Such as plumbers, electricians and painters while customers will rarely visit their offices. Because these businesses are mobile they can have a service area. So in this case it is acceptable to list your address as the district you work in. You should not create multiple listings for different geographical areas. For business owners who have claimed their listing, they may use their home address.

Multiple pages for businesses

As a general rule, we only allow a business to have a single page per location. Although there are some scenarios that may warrant the use of multiple pages.

  • Discrete service offerings: You may require separate pages if your business offers a variety of services. In particular, where these services offer the user distinct difference. A good example of this would be a Vehicle maintenance dealer who sells and repairs. For the reason that they might have a first-class sales team but their repair shop work isn’t as good. Furthermore, because they are separate service departments chances are they will have different operational times and numbers. So it makes sense to keep them separate.
  • Businesses within another location: Such as a restaurant located in a hotel should maintain a separate page. Likewise, some departments within larger businesses, such as a pharmacy within a supermarket, may also warrant separate pages. Particularly if hours or contact information are different.
  • Individual providers vs. group practices: Some individual service providers have their own business pages. Such as those whose work tends to be evaluated separately from their shared practice group. Doctors are an example of this they will typically have their own Business page. Which will be separate from where they may perform their services. For example, a hospital, medical offices, or group practices. Not every situation is the same, so submit a report if you think we need to merge two pages or create a new one.

Closed Businesses

If we have information indicating that the business has closed, we will mark it as ‘closed’. You can learn more on why closed businesses may still appear in the Mycareplace search and our guidelines for substantial business changes.

A business should only list their location once on Mycareplace. If however a business has multiple locations then we require each location to have its own business page. Although there may be some exceptions to this – eg a food truck. Because a food truck is mobile and can change location daily therefore this kind of business need only have one listing page. If you notice a duplicate listing please let us know by please submitting a report.
